Fernando Vargas

Fernando Vargas is a Senior Specialist in the Competitiveness, Technology, and Innovation Division (CTI) at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). He has extensive experience advising national agencies and multilateral organizations in the design of science and innovation policies. His research focus is on the measurement and analysis of innovation and productivity in firms. He is an Industrial Engineer and has a Master’s degree in Applied Economics from the University of Chile, and is a PhD candidate in Innovation, Economics, and Governance for Development at the United Nations University and the University of Maastricht (UNU-MERIT).
