Devaki Ghose

Devaki Ghose works at the Research Unit of the World Bank. She is a trade economist whose work focuses on the intersections of trade with infrastructure, migration, and the environment. A lot of her recent research is on trade policies, for example how protectionist policies disguised as environmental measures—such as Sri Lanka’s chemical fertilizer import ban—can create economic disruptions, reducing domestic incomes, agricultural production, and exports.
